Job Description

Sitec currently has an opportunity for a Technical Data Supplier to join our client based Bristol, this is a contract position for 8 months and has a pay rate of £30p/hr Ltd.

The Airbus Technical Data organization (SED) is a significant part of the Customer Support function. It is split into several groups with different responsibilities, some developing the methods and tools, others for developing the content of the manuals and supporting teams.

Vendors supply Airbus with aircraft components and the associated Technical Data. Supplier Data Management & Support (SEDBV) manage the relationship and interfaces with this global network of vendors.

The Supplier Data - Systems & Power Plant (SEDBVY) team is split across three locations in France, UK and Spain. Within this team, each member manages portfolios of vendors. This team is responsible for ensuring that the vendor supplies the supporting data (LMP, CDF etc.) for aircraft systems and powerplant on time and on quality. This data is required to enable SEDY authoring lines to produce the Technical Data on time for the operators.

The team also ensures the relevant CMMv are supplied on time and on quality to be made available to the operators directly and to support the authoring process.


Supplier Data - Systems & Power Plant are responsible for managing the interface between the global network of component suppliers (vendors) and Airbus Technical Data.

The team is responsible for managing:

  1. the planning & the deliveries needed from the suppliers
  2. the data required to maintain removable systems components,
  3. the data required to provision and manage spare components
  4. the data required to author the aircraft manual content (Illustrated Parts Catalog, Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Trouble Shooting Manual and Wiring Manuals mainly).
  5. Support suppliers in delivering data in the dedicated tools
  6. Regular meeting with the main suppliers

Main activities

  1. Vendor Portfolio Management
    1. Manage the Technical Data relationship with the vendors in the assigned portfolios.
      1. Prepare the top level relationship dashboard
      2. Monitor the performance with respect to the key deliverables.
  • Propose improvement action plans where deficiencies are found.
  1. Lead regular review with key suppliers
  2. As required visit the vendor facilities.
  3. Gather all the needs from the authoring line
  • Make the link with Supplier Support Management organization (SBP) with regular exchange or for escalation if needed
  1. Support vendors with Supplier Technical Data Exchange
  1. ACMM and CMMv Management
    1. Manage the reception of the Abbreviated Component Maintenance Manual (ACMM) and vendor Component Maintenance Manual (CMMv).
      1. Ensure deliveries are made on time in accordance with the contractual schedule.
      2. Ensure the quality of the deliverables via a content check.
  1. RSPL - Recommended Spare Parts List
    1. Support the spares organization provisioning data by verifying the list of recommended spare parts supplied to the aircraft operators.
    2. Investigate discrepancies in the Airbus/Supplier data highlighted by the report and provide correctives actions to Design Office/Vendors to eliminate.
  2. CDF - Component Data Form
  3. Manage the supply of CDF set against agreed schedule:
    1. On time - to support aircraft development and delivery schedules.
    2. On quality - as required - compare the LMP data to the CMMv IPL to ensure consistency.
  • Implement feedback to the vendor to ensure right first time.
  1. Verify contents of CDF set for accuracy, completeness and consistency.
  2. Ensure CDF set is loaded into the correct database (MADAME) to allow other parts of the business to use the data (MTBUR, shelf life, shop time etc).
  3. Support to Airbus Engineering
    1. Proof reading of Purchaser Technical Specification (PTS) to ensure TechData requirements are included

  1. SDR - Source Data Requests
    1. Ensure resolution of queries related to vendor data from:
      1. Authoring teams, internal and subcontractor
      2. Spares provisioning team in SLR/SATAIR with reference to spares data
    2. Manage and report on vendor performance related to source data requests.
  1. Tech Request
    1. Manage the customer queries received by Airbus Technical Data related to vendor data or interchangeability (ICY).
    2. Launch corrective actions internally and externally to support this activity
  1. Process and Method Development

Where methods do not exist, or need improving:

  1. propose and implent new and improved methods and processes to carry out the above tasks.
  2. Applying automation to manual tasks and employing new technology where possible.

Use ideabox and Change Control Board (CCB) fora to publicise and gain approval for developments which impact other departments
