Job Description

Sitec are recruiting for a Support Engineer NDT & Welding role for a prestigious Engineering company who specialise in the Naval / Marine and Support Services industry based in Plymouth.

This is a temporary contract role for an estimated 3 months initially.

Principal Tasks and Responsibilities for the Support Engineer NDT & Welding role:

To raise all NDT requests associated with constructive activities.
To raise all Weld History sheets associated with constructive activities and ensure that all the necessary quality requirements are correct in accordance with the work specification. To co-ordinate all NDT activities as requested by the Production Controller constructive by working closely with the NDT department to ensure that NDT activities are carried out in a timely manner to support the production programme to the correct quality.
To request all Weld information sheet from Weld Design and Technology.
To maintain a database to the status of all welding and NDT documentation.
To ensure that all documentation Weld history sheets and NDT reports are archived in accordance with company procedures.
Supply information to the PMO required for the production of MT's.

Responsibilities within the Support Engineer NDT & Welding role include authorisation to:

Request the necessary NDT or welding supporting services to allow the efficient execution of all construction activities. Restrict production activities if the requisite quality information regarding NDT or welding activities is not clear or available.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
ONC/BTEC level 3 or recognised Craft apprenticeship
YINC (Yard Introductory Nuclear Course)
Experience in Constructive welding techniques and NDT requirements
Site Licence/Authorisation Conditions (SL/ACs).

Successful applicants will be required to be Security Cleared prior to appointment.
