Sitec Recruitment are currently recruiting for a prestigious Engineering company who specialise in the Naval / Marine, Network (Rail) Engineering and Support Services industry and are seeking a part time Site Facilities Assistant (Handyperson) to be based at their site in Aztec West North Bristol on a 6 month contract basis initially but could develop in to a permanent position if successful.
Role Overview
This dual role position forms part of a small facilities management team based our clients prestigious head office at Aztec West, Bristol.
The successful candidate will be working as a team reporting to the Facilities Manager to deliver the following services:
Window cleaning, grounds maintenance, waste, recycling, pest control, cleaning, building maintenance and all general FM tasks to keep the building safe and maintained for our clients staff and visitors.
The person in this role will ensure all hard and soft FM queries are directed and actioned promptly in line with the in house processes & procedures.
This person will be flexible, ready for a different challenge every day and have a willingness to assist no matter what the query or task presented to them.
Main Responsibilities:
Grounds maintenance of the car park & grounds that presents a clean and professional image of our client.
Use of appropriate tools and equipment in a safe manner in order not to harm user or others.
External window cleaning using the in house cleaning equipment.
Internal window cleaning.
Reporting pest control issues in an agreed prompt manner via our clients pest control sub - contractor.
Winter gritting of car park.
Maintaining grit levels to ensure gritting takes place appropriately in accordance with the weather forecast.
Manual snow clearance of main pathways and key routes to the site.
Porter duties inc: Meeting room chair arrangements, projectors, TV's, flip charts, pens etc are available as requested, furniture move requests.
Liaison with sub - contractors visiting site and ensuring service delivery is in accordance with our clients H&S policy.
Report all faults if discovered within the building whilst on duty.
Checking all sub - contractor risk assessments are in order prior to commencing services on site. (Working in conjunction with our clients H&S department).
Spill management
Recording of maintenance records and certificates for all site equipment and booking sub - contractors to service equipment
Mail - daily delivery/collection to all floor plates of mail/parcels including franking, liaison with Neopost, Royal Mail and Parcel Force.
Issuing of site security passes for staff to access internal door entry system.
Management of car park and issuing of passes.
CCTV - ensuring consumable items for the recording of the CCTV provision is maintained and daily recordings are secured/saved within guidelines of the SIA
Delivering cleaning standards in line with British Institute of cleaning Science. Following correct cleaning colour coding of cloths, mops and buckets. (Full training will be given).
Use of electronic cleaning equipment (Scrubbers, carpet dry cleaning equip/shampooing equipment/hoovers).
Out of normal business hours periodic deep cleaning. (Evenings/early mornings as required).
Waste and recycling control and ensuring that control measures are taken to remove office waste appropriately.
Ad-hoc tasks - Maintaining dish washers and cleanliness/tidiness of kitchenettes across the building.
Twice per day cleaning of toilet facilities.
Reactive /emergency cleaning tasks as required within appropriate agreed timelines.
Ensuring key areas within the building are cleaned more frequently to present a high class image for our client.
Reporting & maintaining cleaning material stock levels and ordering via the correct procurement process.
Ensure kitchenettes are always stocked with dishwasher tablets/washing up liquid and sponges/cloths.
Ensuring all cleaning equipment is in a fit safe state by carrying out H&S checks prior to each use including to ensure equipment is PAT tested.
Report any H&S faults, issues or observations in line with the H&S policies and procedures.
Dual role as a cover for the Reception.
Booking in visitors via the SISYS system and issuing the correct level of security pass dependent on security clearance.
Use of Microsoft Outlook Email, Word, Excel in order to carry out day to day business.
Checking all facilities management (hard and soft) tasks that are logged on the system are routed for the appropriate action.
Assisting the FM team with the setting up meeting rooms for training and meetings.
Use of company vehicle to run errands if required.
Wear and conform to the our clients PPE H&S procedures when carrying out specific tasks.

Willingness to train and learn new tasks as required by the business in order to meet our clients and role specific requirements.
Willingness to wear appropriate work wear uniform dependent on task being carried out. (This way mean different attire dependent on role being carried out).
Full Clean driving licence
SC Cleared
BICS (British Institute of Cleaning Science)
Microsoft Package inc; Outlook, Word and Excel
Previous experience delivering cleaning & soft services
PAT (Portable Appliance Testing - Qualified to deliver)
Grounds Maintenance.
Due to the nature of our clients business candidates must have a background to undergo a UK security check.
