Job Description

Sitec are currently looking to recruit a Senior Buyer for a nuclear MoD establishment in Reading (private organisation). The post is for an estimated 2-3 year contract and is paying competitively up to a maximum of £35.00 per hour on a Ltd / Umbrella basis.

Successful applicants will be required to be Security Cleared prior to appointment and must hold a British Passport and UK residency for the past 10 years or more to qualify.

To be a senior team member and contribute to the delivery of the Enterprise Strategy by implementing and maintaining effective buying delivery and day to day contract Management

Accountable:-
* To deliver procurement support to an agreed delivery function
* To oversee and deliver high value and complex procurements
* To oversee and do buying delivery and day to day contract Management for all related products and services
* Liaison with Production lead and tech' Centres to ensure schedule and demand are understood and met
* To be the embedded procurement delivery lead for reporting and supporting the management of contract performance
* Be the lead for preparation, analysis, negotiation and award of contracts within delegated signing powers in accordance with the purchasing policy
* To develop, implement and continuously improve the reporting capability within the Supply Chain Management (SCM) function
* Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality

Responsible:-
* For line/task management of assigned team, their performance and behaviours
* To provide efficient and effective contract management and procurement processes for assigned products and services
* To provide governance and ensure that the approach taken by the function for aligns to strategies and provides best value for money

* To monitor and manage allocated supplier performance through SC21 initiative

Knowledge
* Knowledge of SCM activities and tools used by industry in procurement functions
* Knowledge of the HR strategies and tactical approaches being deployed to deliver the Enterprise Strategy
* Knowledge of best practice procurement techniques

* Ability to work with stakeholders and develop relationships that support; the application of process
* Ability to organise and work with teams and where appropriate delegate accountabilities
* Ability to apply toolsets
* Ability to make effective presentations

Experience
* Experience within Procurement as a function
* Experience in the placement and management of complex high cost projects and contracts
* Supplier relationship management experience and in influencing stakeholders at all levels including some senior level
* Exposure

Qualifications
* Appropriate Professional Qualification; RICS, Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply or equivalent type of qualification i.e. GCSE A level/HNC

Special Requirements
* Willing and able to obtain the Security Clearance required for the role
* Willing and able to travel within the UK and abroad as necessary which may entail short periods away
