Sitec are currently recruiting for a prestigious Engineering/Manufacturing company who specialise in the Nuclear industry and are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis based in their Yate North Bristol office.
Job Purpose of the Quantity Surveyor:
To work with Project Managers to support the efficient and effective execution of projects, ensuring that the contractual requirements for cost, quality and delivery are achieved.
Key Accountabilities of the Quantity Surveyor:
To ensure that contracts are properly set up internally according to Project and Company requirements, including WBS codes, etc. and to maintain and manage all associated records.
To undertake the administration of subcontracts as necessary to ensure that the sales contracts are supported appropriately.
To liaise with the Project Manager to ensure contract change is recognised and administered effectively, including recognition of 'scope creep', delay and disruption, and other changes; preparation of all necessary contractual submissions including early warning notices, compensation events quotations, other claims, etc.; according to each contract's particular requirements.
To prepare and submit monthly valuations, variation analysis, financial planning and CVR reporting.
To attend all relevant contract meeting as necessary, including contract kick-off, progress review, and closeout.
To monitor cost and progress of projects, with the support of the Cost engineer as necessary, ensuring that any potential issues are identified and raised with the relevant personnel at the earliest opportunity
This is a Yate based role, working closely with the Engineering team. Good communication and interpersonal skills will be required to ensure that information is exchanged in an accurate and timely manner
Other Essential Skills / Experience and Qualifications:
RICS qualification preferred
Degree level or appropriate professional qualifications
Experience of a variety of Engineering forms of contract, especially NEC3
IT literate with good knowledge of Spreadsheets, database systems
Experience of Planning and financial tools
Good communicator at all levels
Able to work within, and support, a multi-disciplined team
Contract management is effectively managed through the COINS system
Good communication with the Project Management team, of contract progress, costs and variations
Payment applications are submitted in good time according to project needs
Subcontract arrangements are effectively managed.
Up to £50k, possibly more for a very strong candidate.
