Sitec are currently looking to recruit a Mechanical / PP&E Engineer for a nuclear MoD establishment in Reading. The post is for an estimated 12 month contract initially and is paying competitively on an hourly basis.
Our client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support the handover of a facility for user commissioning. The design definition has been completed and the safety case submitted to the regulator for assessment. The detail design phase for final services routing is underway together with manufacture of the Process Plant and Equipment.
The role is associated with multiple Process Plant and Equipment (PP&E) work packages which are being manufactured ready for build, test, installation and Commissioning. The successful individual will work with the suppliers to promptly address technical queries, review manufacturing and build progress and witness factory acceptance testing. Technical queries often result in a need for design change which will be the responsibility of the candidate to engineer in collaboration with the suppliers. This involves design work and in some cases modification/update of the design substantiation reports.
The candidate will need proven and current technical capability in mechanical design together with technical management of sub-contractors. The role is not for project engineers, coordinators etc. This is a hands on roles which require the individual to be able to generate technical output as well as technically supporting sub-contract suppliers.
