Job Description

Sitec has a requirement for an IT Analyst for our client Caterpillar. This role will be based in Desford, Leicestershire. This is a contract position for an estimated 12 months and the pay rate will be up to £32.00 p/hr (Dependent on experience)

Please note - that the planned start date for the successful candidate will not be until 7th January 2019.


JOB PURPOSE:
The BCP IT Manufacturing Systems group within Caterpillar looks after IT applications and services for all BCP manufacturing and fabrication sites across the UK. This individual will be responsible for working both independently and with a cooperative team on incidents and projects within a manufacturing and assembly environment.

This position is expected to be located primarily at the Desford facility with some potential travel opportunity to Stockton and Wolverhampton locations, among others. This position requires demonstrated successful IT analysis, implementation, documentation, and reporting skills associated with IT systems and their surrounding processes.

This individual must be able to successfully function in an environment where quality and efficiency are expected.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide support for the assembly and fabrication applications and processes. Driving resolution of incidents and problems via established ITIL processes
* Monitor and analyse performance statistics to provide input into operational best practices and suggest improvements to the existing environment through problem management.
* Interact with customers to define requirements, develop and deliver solutions
* Working to Metric and Service level agreements
* Participate in on-call rotation for support of a 24x7 environment

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to
* Level II/III work
* Remote and in-person incident and problem triage, investigation, troubleshooting and resolution
* Competent to perform system support on critical production applications without close supervision
* Work on more complex technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls
* Work independently on complex projects that could span multiple infrastructure components
* Perform integrated testing and acceptance of applications to ensure timely, quality results
* Knowledgeable of programming languages appropriate to the application supported, program design and specification development, programming logic, testing, debugging, documentation standards
* Design and implement processes, or process improvements, to aid in development and support
* Assist customers with documentation, training and usability efforts


EXPERIENCE:

Skills and Experience Required
* Ability to leverage vendors and other third parties to achieve objectives
* Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
* Experience supporting IT environments within a manufacturing industry
* Knowledge of Active Directory and related services
* Knowledge of SQL, mySQL and other relational databases
* Windows Operating System configuration and administration
* Familiarity with the principles of ITIL/ITSM Supported by ServiceNow
* Complex Incident and problem troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills

Desired Qualifications
* Machine Flash and Diagnostics familiarity (PSPS & ET, IPV Test, VMC Test Manager)
* Manufacturing Execution Systems knowledge: ASRS Automated Stores, Pbase Visual Instruction, Andon Systems, Quality Vision systems (Matrox Systems), Logistics Pick to light (Turck Banner systems)
* Experience with configuration and setup of Mobile devices and Hand-held Terminals (Honeywell)
* Complex Incident and problem troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
