Installation Design Engineer required by our MoD client in Berkshire.
Initial 12 month contract role, working 80 hours over a nine-day fortnight.
Successful application will need to gain an MoD security clearance prior to starting. (4-6 weeks)
Objective:-To advise construction, maintenance and IT projects on the secure installation of equipment and to provide assurance that standards are being maintained.
Sub-Discipline: IT/Telecoms Discipline: Technical Support Accountabilities Provide advice to projects during planning, design, installation and commissioning Provide expert assurance that information security risk arising from installation is being managed appropriately Inspect and certify installations at the appropriate stages and fulfil obligations for go/no go decisions Escalate risks or non-conformance assessed as unacceptable to senior management Oversee the activities of project Installation Design Authorities (IDA)
Responsibilities Co-ordinate Installation Design Proposals, agree conformance and certify or otherwise advise on non-conformance Ensure that installations are completed in accordance with the design proposals and conform to electronic and safety standards Ensure that appropriate documentation including as-fitted drawings has been prepared Approve equipment and parts that form components of specified systems to ensure that they are suitable for installation on our clients sites Ensure that installations are in compliance with ISO, BS and MoD specifications and good practice Broad knowledge of IT systems and networking Installation engineering, standards and conformance MOD secure systems design and installation (desirable) IDA Certification MOD SCIDA training (desirable) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent (desirable)
