Sitec are currently recruiting for a prestigious engineering company who specialise in the Naval/Marine Engineering and support industry and are seeking a Head of Design - Facilities and Infrastruture to be based on Devonport Royal Dockyard Plymouth, this could be a Contract or Permanent role.
Head of Design (Facilities and Infrastructure) role:
As Strategic Infrastructure Design Authority, the primary purpose of the Head of Facility Design post is technically direct development of Facility Designs suitable to be constructed to cost, schedule and meet an agreed set of technical requirements.
Delivery of Facility Design to Technical Quality.
Implement our clients Dockyard Design Processes.
Implement our clients Dockyard Design Standards.
Contribute to development of Design Processes & Standards.
Provide focal point for the Dockyard forward Design Policy.
Design Requirements Approval.
Develop & Plan Design SoW.
Design Resource Management.
Manage design team ONR interface.
Work with Head of Nuclear Safety & Chief Engineer.
Principal interface with Head of Site TA.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences required of the Head of Design:
Senior Leadership in Design.
Substantiation of Nuclear Safety Class 1 engineering.
Design Process Management.
Transverse technical skills.
Senior Management Leadership Skills.
CEng Fellow competencies.
Qualifications required from the Head of Design (Facilities and Infrastructure):
Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining security clearance (SC) or developed vetting (DV) level of security clearances).
