Job Description

Sitec are currently looking to recruit a number of Facility Engineers (all grades and disciplines) for a private nuclear MoD establishment in Reading. The posts are for an initial 12 month contract period. These are also available as Permanent Positions. Hourly Rates are "Market Rates" and the Salary Range is £28K-£39K dependent on experience.

Key Accountabilities
Positioned within a multi-disciplined engineering team which is tasked with work across the full suite of plant/facilities/systems at our client's site. The role will: -
* Apply appropriate engineering principles, best practice and know-how in the provision of engineering services and professional advice
* Identify technical problems, evaluate options and formulate solutions to achieve satisfactory conclusions
* Provide an engineering interface with operations, service providers, design authorities, project personnel and other stakeholders in the development and execution of engineering activities
* As an intelligent customer for the client the role holder will be expected to liaise with peers and stakeholders such as subject specialists, other disciplines etc to deliver an integrated and correct solution
* Ensure understanding, application and leadership by example of all responsibilities with regard to the Company's Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
* Ensure that safety risks and business risks associated with engineering activities are assessed and that appropriate checks, controls and precautions are taken
* Review as required: engineering, methods, defects, maintenance faults, non-conformances and problem areas. Use evidence from the reviews to improve effectiveness, reliability, maintainability and economy, leading to continuous improvement
* Work within the configuration control system and supporting the production and safe retention of necessary records and quality documentation
* Evaluate maintenance and effectiveness of maintenance plans and make recommendations as appropriate. Work with maintenance teams to optimise delivery
* To deliver the above, the role holder will input and/or manage the input of others across the whole equipment/plant/engineering lifecycle including design, installation, troubleshooting, technical investigation, commissioning and handover

* A working knowledge of the engineering activities associated with operating and maintaining plant/facilities, and building services systems
* Knowledge of engineering principles and best practices - e.g the standards and legislation pertinent to the activity/discipline being undertaken
* Working knowledge of configuration control
* Knowledge of diagnostic and troubleshooting methods and techniques such as root cause analysis on process plant or building services equipment
* Knowledge and experience of tools and techniques for maintaining an environment where all understand, and are committed to, providing excellent service to internal and external customers
* Computer literate, with the capability to utilise any specialist packages related to the specific role/discipline - e.g CAD, Amtech etc.
* Knowledge and working experience of organisation's products, structure, processes, cultures and values
* Knowledge of ONR, EA and Licence Conditions and how they apply to Engineering and Maintenance

* Experience of plant or services design and operation processes, including configuration control, maintenance, fault-finding, root cause analysis and trouble shooting
* Experienced in the collection and analysis of technical data to contribute to making engineering and technical decisions. For example this could be for developing technical specifications/requirements or for analysis of plant performance
* Experience at a practical level of applying process tools and techniques associated with delivering a fully functioning Safety Management System
* Experience of design in an engineering environment, from specification through to design selection, including knowledge and ability in related design processes, tools and approaches
* Experience of a service role, reacting to and managing varying demands to deliver effectively
* Experience of holding service providers to account in an 'intelligent customer' type of role
* Experience of working in a highly regulated environment in accordance with defined standards and requirements, for example in areas subject to Safety Cases
* Experienced in the production and presentation of business cases in support of business decision making

The qualification requirement will be dependent on the grading and nature of the specific role. The following is a guide to the range of qualifications that would be considered:
* ONC or City and Guilds with sufficient post-training accumulated experience in a defined and relevant discipline
* HNC/HND or Degree in an Engineering discipline with sufficient post-training accumulated experience in a defined and relevant discipline
* Additionally, it is expected that candidates show a commitment to attaining Professional Registration
* Degree and relevant experience
* Professional registration with a relevant professional body commensurate with the grade of the specific role

Willing and able to obtain and maintain a high level of security clearance necessary for the role
