Job Description

Sitec has 3 requirements for Engine Technicians for our client Perkins Engines. These are contract positions for an estimated 12 months and will be based in Peterborough.

Global Engine Development (GED-UK) based at the Perkins Engines site in Peterborough and part of Caterpillar Product Development Centre of Excellence (PDCOE) is dedicated to providing leadership in engine test and development solutions to Perkins Engines. We are currently seeking to recruit a number of both permanent and temporary test technicians to support our continued growth and market leadership in compact Diesel engines

The Engine Technicians will carry out research & development work on either current or new engines. The ability to work to engineer's instructions, carry out a range of test work, including fitting prototype parts to an engine and/or record and produce quality data is fundamental.


Applicants must be self-motivated with good team working skills and be willing to work shifts. Initiative and a positive attitude to change are also essential.

Required Skills:
* Mechanical/electrical experience on diesel engines, such as stripping & rebuilding along with an understanding of common rail fuel systems
* Good PC skills
* Engine test rig experience and/or technical/mechanical experience would provide a distinct advantage. Additional specific training will be given where required.

City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Apprenticeship served in Motor Mechanics or equivalent qualifications
