Job Description

Sitec has an exciting and interesting requirement for an Electronic Systems Engineer (Machine Systems) to be based on-site at Caterpillar Perkins in Peterborough. These are contract positions with an estimated duration of 12 months ongoing.

The Innovation & Technology Development team offers some of the most exciting engineering roles within the Caterpillar global organisation. Working on the integration of electronic and electrical systems within multiple Caterpillar products provides the opportunity to work with multiple disciplines within the organisation.

The integration of the latest Electronics and Electrical technology helps differentiate Caterpillar products from its competitors by enabling exceptional performance and value to the customer.

The Advanced Components & Technologies (AC&T) division, based in Peterborough (UK), have an exiting opportunity to join the team to contribute to the design and development of electrical and electronic control systems for Caterpillar both in Collision Avoidance and Articulated Trucks automation, developed and produced in Europe.

The successful candidate will be working on a multitude of development projects to design and develop systems that meet the both regulatory and customer requirements. The successful candidate will work on collision avoidance system development and machine automation projects.

'Must Have' key skills and competencies for this role

A Degree-qualified engineer with experience in the broad range of systems engineering activities involved in the development of machine control systems.

Demonstrated experience of:

o Collecting customer requirements
o Documenting technical specifications
o Developing features and integrating them in machine
o Completion of a verification testing

'Desirable' key skills (but not mandatory) and competencies for this role

* Off-highway machine control system development experience (or comparable experience with automotive, marine or military vehicle control systems)
* Requirements management (Ideas, Teamcenter etc.)
* D-Space or NI test bench experience
