Experienced Contracts Manager (NEC & CEMAR) required for work on a nuclear MoD site in Berkshire.
Rate: Available upon enquiry.
Initial 12 month duration, working a standard week of 40 hours.
Start date: ASAP but subject to gaining an MoD clearance.
Effective management of tender evaluations and recommendations for award (to Sub-contractors) and to ensure the effective contract management of these contract awards.
Duties:- (Pre-contract ward)
Delivering against our clients commercial strategy and perform Pre-Contract and Post- Contract administration of assigned packages.
Implementation and development of our clients Procurement Strategy, ITT Evaluation Plan and Contract Management Plan for each package to be tendered (in line with our Client's requirements).
Implement the Procurement Strategy in accordance with the agreed schedule.
Management of the ITT from issue through clarifications to evaluation and recommendation, implementing the approved ITT Evaluation Plan including initiating and chairing the Tender Evaluation Board.
Post Contract award:-
Lead Contract Kick off meetings.
Implement the approved Contract Management Plan.
Support our client's project management department to ensure effective management of awarded contracts including progress reporting, milestones and interim valuations, early warnings, compensation events, changes etc.;
Contract Monitoring and early identification of issues and problems.
Coordinate Risk reduction meetings.
Ensure contractual compliance by contractor and ensure contractual deliverables are submitted in a timely and an acceptable manner.
Review all requests for compensation for extra work and co-ordinate their further review and approval;
Perform all work at the direction of Client Commercial Management, needed to address and settle claims from contractors.
Ensure timely close-out of contracts.
Preparation of all necessary reports.
Area of expertise:-
Experience of working with NEC contracts and CEMAR.
Experience of working in a regulated environment and a good understanding of delivery techniques in regulated markets.
In depth understanding of commercial risk and procurement strategies within a construction / engineering environments.
Excellent working contractual knowledge.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in writing.
Comfortable in a Matrix management environment as part of an integrated team delivering the Project's objectives.
Successful candidates will need to undergo an MoD security clearance.
