Sitec are currently recruiting for a prestigious engineering company who specialise in the Naval/Marine Engineering and support industry and are seeking a Chief Engineer - Infrastructure to be based on Devonport Royal Dockyard, this could be a Contract or Permanent role.
Role of the Chief Engineer - Infrastructure:
As part of the Strategic Infrastructure Design Authority, the primary purpose of the Chief Engineer Post is provision of Technical Assurance of Strategic Infrastructure Design & Safety Outputs to SI Head of Engineering via application of the Dockyard Technical Governance process and leadership of specific technical issues as tasked by Head of Engineering.
Technical Governance of SI Design & Safety Outputs for Technical Class 1 Projects.
Define and contribute to development of Design & Nuclear Safety Processes & Standards.
Assure compliance with Dockyard Design & Nuclear Safety Processes.
Assure compliance with Dockyard Technical & Design Standards.
Provision of independent technical support and advice to the Head of Engineering.
Technical oversight of requirements / assumptions management.
Develop and Plan Technical Governance.
Establish Policy, Arrangements and Capability for Design House Technical Governance.
Seismic Working Group Chair.
With the Head of Nuclear Safety, provide SQEP capability re NSRP Safety Issues; with the Head of Design, provide SQEP capability for Conventional HS&E Design Requirements.
Support SI Interface with ONR.
Work with the Head of Nuclear Safety, Head of Design, and Project Design & Safety Managers.
CE Function Resource Management.
Authority for Approval of Design / DoC Signatory Principal interface with the Head of Site TA.

Design development and management.
NSRP Design SQEP.
Apply fundamental technical skills to complex novel problems.
Senior Management Leadership Skills.
CEng Fellow competencies.
Transverse technical skills.
Qualifications required of the Chief Engineer:
Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (this may include obtaining security clearance (SC) or developed vetting (DV) level of security clearances)
