Job Description

Sitec are currently looking to recruit a Business Intelligence Analyst for a private nuclear MoD establishment in Reading, The post is for an estimated 6 month contract and is paying competitively on an hourly basis.

To delivery and support a comprehensive suite of management information and analytic capabilities for the client.

Accountabilities
* Understand from Business consumers what information they require and how it can be delivered
* Identify and interrogate source data within Oracle and other sources
* Development of the web based software interrogation tool (OBIEE) to deliver the required information to support business decisions
* Delivery of accurate information through appropriate mechanisms to senior management
* Acts as the technical expert for BI capability across the business
* Providing practical assistance and expert advice in all aspects of business intelligence across the clients business.
* Support the ongoing implementation of BI for the client
* Develop and deliver training to all areas of the Business in order to aid their understanding of the significance and limitations of reporting
* Foster best practice within the business by providing guidance to users and information owners influencing their approach and requirements
* Review, learn and improve BI processes, ensuring full integration with corporate business processes, enabling appropriate performance reporting and governance
* Lead and manage cross-company virtual teams (including external subject matter experts) to deliver business requirements
* Assessing safety and security implications of the information delivered through BI across the business and ensuring appropriate action is taken
* Proactive identification of opportunities for developing BI across the business

Responsibilities
* To ensure understanding and application of all responsibilities with regard to the Company's Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
* Provide leadership, expertise, and on-going support to senior management, process owners and other information owners
* Establish Review, Learn and Improve (RLI) activities to increase the effectiveness of processes and procedures, to review the delivery of BI and to review the information available against business requirements
* Provide support to and mentor the role of embedded BI analysts in the business- giving a corporate view and expert advice to those analysts in the business
* Provide proactive help to resolve problems with processes and procedures and specific work conflicts both to senior management and to other analysts across the business, acting as the technical expert
* Monitor the effectiveness of BI delivery and raise the profile of BI in the business
* Acting as a corporate authority on the effective display of information through dashboards, scorecards and their components
* Responsible for undertaking other duties as reasonably required from time to time by line and task management
Skills
* Good understanding of Data Protection Act requirements
* Strong understanding of the business environment and constraints to add value through the definition and delivery of information through the BI tools
* Strong understanding of Oracle reporting
* Strong written, verbal and presentational skills
* Ability to communicate with stakeholders (internal and external) and at all levels
* Ability to lead and motivate at all levels of the company
* Initiating and driving change, with drive to achieve results
* Personal credibility
* Understanding of OLAP methodologies, techniques and development
* Understanding of SQL and ability to define moderately complex queries
* Ability to manage conflict while maintaining positive working relationships
* Comfortable with engaging a wide range of stakeholders across the business to build an understanding of the issues associated with BI and then finding practical workable solutions that support added value activities including:
* Willingness to support process owners, stakeholders, business change managers and governance boards
* Motivated by success, overcoming issues and blockages to achieve this

* Willing to share BI experience
* Committed to BI and knowledge transfer

Experience
* Proven experience in the delivery of information to consumers, including presentation, analysis and formatting and providing this at a senior level within the business
* Requirements capture through leading workshops and other means
* Use of Business Intelligence tools including Essbase, OBIEE+, Informatica, DAC
* Extensive previous experience within the BI arena
* Proven in depth experience in the management of the full BI information life cycle
* Coordination of cross-company virtual teams
* Degree level education or the equivalent experience is preferred
* Willing and able to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the role
