The first flight of the Breakthrough Laminar Aircraft Demonstrator in Europe (BLADE) took place today. The successful maiden flight lasted over 3.5 hours and took the heavily modified Airbus A340-300 MSN1 from Tarbes in southern France to the Airbus facility in Toulouse.
Sitec have been heavily involved with the BLADE project for the past 6 years. Today marks the culmination of the dedication and hard work for all involved in the BLADE project, including the 55 Sitec engineers who worked on the project at its peak. Read more about Sitec's involvement here:
