Sitec is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for our prestigious client to work at their Derby site on an estimated 12 month contract.
Our client is a global business, providing and supplying integrated power systems for use on land, sea and air. They have established a strong position in civil and defence aerospace and the marine and energy markets
The opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer role within the Turbines ABC Facility development team.
The job role will be a part engineer role on a component/process that our client has yet to demonstrate capability.
The part owner will be expected to establish an IPT and manage the programme to deliver manufacturing capability on the chosen product and deliver a fully validated production process for a selected IP turbine blade manufactured using Large chill process.
The role will require engagement with several functions within our client’s departments (i.e. design / logistics / operations) along with external suppliers to deliver manufacturing capability.
As well as the part specific validation, the role would also require manufacturing best practice to be defined for IP blade manufacture with the candidate having significant influence on the future method of manufacture for IP blade manufacture.Candidates who feel they can manage projects across multiple disciplines through the full single crystal casting route, (e.g. wax injection, assembly, shell, cast, component finishing and inspection) to develop and deliver a capable manufacturing system should apply.
You will need to be a determined, enthusiastic engineer with a passion, motivation and personal drive to succeed and a vision of how modern manufacturing should be achieved.
Knowledge of casting processes, wax, shell and cast process equipment, advanced manufacturing technologies and inspection practices is preferred, but the aptitude to learn rapidly will be a necessity.
Knowledge and experience of manufacturing of complex components in an aerospace environment is preferred, but is not a prime requirement.
A high computer literacy and an ability to communicate effectively at all levels on technical issues need to be demonstrated. Moreover you need to have demonstrated the ability to successfully deliver technically challenging programmes of work following a structured methodology.You will either be educated to degree level, or possess suitable experience in an engineering, manufacturing capacity
